The Beauty In Your Own Lane

There’s beauty and inspiration in your experiences, too. Your story matters too, sis. Take a moment and look around. Look at where you are. Look how far you have come. Look at the growth, girl! Because you’ve come a long way. I can guarantee you that you’re not in the same place you used to be. 

In today's time, we are powered by social media and connected to our phones. Which can take the joy out of our lives, which we are so blind to see right in front of us. The house we live in, the car we drive, the job we have, the love we are surrounded by, and the friends that are in our circle. Because we are comparing ourselves to someone's highlight reel, if anything, that person could be lying online. A lot of people suffer in silence. At the end of the day, we don’t know what people are going through or what they did to get to that point. The long nights, the tears, the prayers, and the sacrifice. But let's look at the bigger picture. Don't you know that your life right now is somebody’s wish?

Comparison happens to the best of us, even me! But you have to look in that mirror and just admire yourself and take it all in. We were born to be originals, not duplicates. And if you cannot see the beauty in that, you will always look at the next person and try to analyze their aura and take bits and pieces of them and make it your own. No, girl! That’s not the way to go. We’re not all created to do the same thing; we all have a purpose to fulfill, and they’re all different. There is no such thing as being behind in life; we’re all on a unique path. You think you’re behind in life because you’re the one comparing yourself to others. 

Speak life to yourself. Remind yourself of how beautiful you are. Don’t wait around for somebody to tell you. Choose yourself; don’t wait to be chosen. Stop looking at the next girl and downplaying your own looks. There are so many gorgeous women in the world, and you are one of them! Don’t you know sunsets and roses are both pretty; they just look different.
